THE TRUTH ABOUT CHRISTIAN TRADITION cuts through 2000 years of ‘we have always done it this way’ to ask one question: What did Jesus and His original apostles and their associates actually command?
Not every tradition comes from heaven. Some were handed down by men, and some by God. How do you tell the difference?
With Scripture as our only ruler, we examine baptism, communion, church order, and worship - not to destroy heritage, but to test it. Because when tradition contradicts Truth, Truth must win - Mark 7:8.
This book is for every believer tired of man-made rules and hungry for the pure Word of God.
He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honours Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” (Mark 7:6-7)
About the book
This book is the third book in the series. Here is the author's introduction to the book:
Every human society has traditions and ways of behaving: dress codes, greeting protocols, standard formats for weddings and burials, gender roles and so on. Sometimes these traditions may follow God’s commands, at other times they conflict with them, thus making the Word of God to no effect. As Christians, we should obey God first and foremost. We should seek His heart.
This book is a study guide to explore custom and tradition in the context of Scripture. It is designed to help believers distinguish between culture and command, and to know when the traditions of the world in which we live are in conflict with the Word of God.
Each lesson is structured to be clear, practical, and applicable for personal study, small groups, and teaching in the local church.
What you will find in this book:
-
Scripture-centred teaching: Every lesson is built on the Word of God, with key texts for reading and reflection.
-
Simple structure: Each lesson includes a lead text, memory verse, introduction, presentation, evaluation questions, and a closing prayer.
-
Practical application: The goal is not just knowledge, but transformed lives that worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24).
This material is written for anyone who desires to grow in their understanding of God and to worship Him faithfully – whether you are new in the faith or have walked with the Lord for many years.
May these lessons draw you closer to God and equip you to worship Him with your whole life.
